Galicia is located on the Northwest corner of the Iberian Peninsula (Spain). It covers an area of 29,575 square kilometers. Its geography is irregular and the coast is jagged forming the so called rías. Galician climate is generally humid-Atlantic, although there are some differences between coastal and inner areas.   Galicia’s coat of arms is represented by a Eucharistic above a golden chalice, surrounded by seven silver crosses that represent the the heads of the old Kingdom of Galicia.
